About the Position
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Construction Support Specialist to join our residential construction team. This role is responsible for performing final quality checks and completing outstanding items (the punch list) to ensure homes are 100% ready for homeowner walkthroughs, inspections, and occupancy. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in finish carpentry and light construction tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform interior and exterior repairs, improvements or corrections based on punch list reports and needs in the field.
- Inspect work for quality and make necessary repairs to include drywall, trim, paint, caulking, cabinetry, doors, hardware, flooring, and other finish work.
- Work with teammates, subcontractors, site supervisors, and volunteers to understand and uphold a standard of construction and service of which everyone can be proud in all phases and efforts.
- Adjust and align doors, windows, and cabinetry for proper function.
- Repair or replace items such as damaged fixtures, tile, baseboards, shelving, or light carpentry work.
- Coordinate with field staff, subcontractors or vendors for warranty or specialty work as needed.
- Conduct walk-throughs with homeowners to ensure all items are completed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the job site, especially during final stages.
- Use mobile devices or software (if required) to log punch list items and update progress.
- Comply with all safety standards and procedures on-site.
- Any other tasks or assignments as delegated and discussed with supervisor.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in residential construction, finish carpentry, or a similar trade.
- Strong knowledge of basic construction tools and techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and punch lists.
- Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Valid drivers license.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Comfortable working in various conditions (indoors/outdoors, heat, cold).
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods.
Salary and Benefits
- This is a temporary hourly role with variable hours, up to 40 per week.
