The Cost Administrator is responsible for supporting financial operations by managing cost data, tracking project expenses, and ensuring accurate reporting. This role plays a key part in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control processes to help maintain financial efficiency across projects or departments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitor and track project or departmental costs against budgets.
  • Prepare and maintain cost reports, forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Assist in the development of budgets and financial plans.
  • Review and verify invoices, purchase orders, and expense claims.
  • Collaborate with project managers and finance teams to ensure cost accuracy.
  • Maintain cost databases and ensure data integrity.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and support procurement efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulations.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in cost administration, financial analysis, or accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, or project-based industries.
  • Familiarity with cost control methodologies and financial reporting standards.
