DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Construct, alter and repair costume pieces either by hand or machine as instructed Collaborate with the shop team to complete the total workload achieving the artistic goals of the departmental productions Maintain shop supplies, stock and equipment Assist with shop maintenance and restocking Fulfill other duties as assigned In addition to practical skills, this role provides training in: Professionalism Critical thinking, Effective teamwork Ideal candidates should have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
SCHEDULE Work shifts available between 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Mondays - Fridays Student must be able to work 4 - 6 hours per week, Mondays - Fridays On occasion, student may be asked to work evenings and/or weekends depending on the College event schedule RATE OF PAY $16.30 / hour WORK STUDY REQUIREMENT Federal or L&C Work Study required OTHER REQUIREMENTS A demonstrated passion for sewing, crafts, and costumes A friendly, welcoming attitude Ability to work independently Complete assigned projects and tasks in an efficient manner with strong attention to detail Learn new techniques and procedures Excellent attention-to-detail, follow-through, and professionalism Ability to work quickly without errors Ability to maintain a clean and safe work area On the job training is provided, theatrical or general sewing experience is preferred.
