With our extensive range of facilities and environments, our Engineers have opportunities across many diverse areas including Biological, Chemical, Automation, Capital Projects, Maintenance, Safety, Process Development, Technical Services, Utilities and Validation.

Director Global Engineering Services Construction and Logistics Director is responsible to support a $3B capital program. Guide teams to carefully plan, identify risks and mitigation strategies, track and monitor progress, escalate risks and cascade information. Align a cross-functional team around the project mission/work plan. Interface and align with key Service Providers of Engineering, Procurement, Equipment, Construction Management and Commissioning/Qualification services. Initial assignment is as described above, but future roles and responsibilities are dependent upon future project workload and locations.

Primary Activities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Guide GES programs and projects to optimal execution strategies that carefully consider complexity, geography, risk and business impact.
  • Find the best partners for the execution strategy with clear roles/responsibilities.
  • Agreement input with a keen focus on clear and thorough terms, appropriate risk allocation and insurance coverage.
  • Coach and assess teams' use of lean construction.
  • Manage funding review process to include:
    • Review or approve funding packages for projects, participate in Stage Gate Reviews
    • Reviews for large regional projects. Input to and participate in cross regional resource planning and workload projection
  • Develop close working relationships with Plant Manager(s), key stakeholders and Staff within region. As a member of the Project Leadership Team, perform share of administrative functions (Tier Meetings, Safety/Staff Meetings, key stakeholder relationship management) to ensure department and GES are delivering on business needs and addressing development of our staff
  • Develop close working relationships with key design and construction partners.
  • Implement and continuously improve standard work based on learnings.
  • Track industry trends and lead improvements.
  • Monitor Quality Control and Assurance programs.
  • Develop site logistics plans that prioritize safety and maximize productivity.
  • Develop a Strategic Permitting Strategy with the local AHJ to expedite Permit approval processes.
  • Find and guide teams to simple solutions.
  • Broad knowledge of bioprocess and Infrastructure projects and requirements.
  • As needed, may be responsible to manage a program or project.

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor's required, concentrations in Engineering or applicable scientific or business discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years formal engineering work experience required.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Construction and Construction Management expertise
  • Broad knowledge of construction industry
  • Design and Construction contracting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and proven project management excellence demonstrated over multiple assignments.
  • Integrated Project and Lean Delivery experience
  • Familiarity with Cost Reporting, Schedule Development and Estimating
  • Early project planning
  • Construction Quality Assurance and Control
  • Familiarity with union labor and agreements
  • Demonstrated leadership skills necessary to build and maintain a high performing group of technical professionals.
  • An understanding of GMP and regulatory qualification requirements and expectations are desirable.
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Construction and process safety expertise
  • Team building and leadership skills
  • Offsite construction experience
  • Demonstrated use of BIM
  • Commissioning and qualification experience
  • Experience implementing project QA/QC programs
  • Coaching and mentoring

The salary range for this role is $169,700.00 - $267,200.00. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
