The Director of Construction Accounting will provide strategic advice, construction accounting, and analytical guidance for all planned and unplanned expenses - for all aspects of construction and development projects for SROA Capital’s growing portfolio. Duties and Responsibilities Oversees and manages the construction accounting and analytical process for construction and development projects. Coordinates with Project Managers on the preparation and maintenance of project budgets. Manages, analyzes, and effectively communicates the financial progress of multiple projects to key resources and different members of senior leadership. Manages the preparation and processing of project change orders and budget revisions. Ensure timely and accurate construction project billings are produced each month. Verify vendors and subcontractor payments align with local ordinances, departmental obligations, and project timelines. Build and maintain strategic and sustainable construction financial accounting processes. Ensure financial statements for Construction and Development departments are produced in a timely and accurate manner. Ensures budgets and job costs are recorded timely and accurately, transactions are recorded in proper work breakdown structures and asset classifications. Provide guidance and support to Facilities Construction and other teams in project accounting, projections, contractual compliance, internal processes, and problem solving. Prepare and review project financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts. Effectively utilizes the appropriate data, reports, and tools for analysis and benchmarking. Hire, train, develop and mentor Construction Accounting staff. Other tasks and projects as assigned. Qualifications Minimum of bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field. Advance Degree Preferred. 5+ years’ experience in a senior accounting position in the construction/real estate industry. 7+ years’ experience in construction accounting required. Supervisory experience required. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Strong understanding of GAAP, Job Costing, WIP and Cash Management. Excellent communication skills, both orally and written Able to multitask, prioritize and delegate responsibilities in an effective and efficient manner. Outstanding integrity, solid moral judgment, and the ability to make important decisions under pressure. Expert problem solver, analytical thinker, and decision-maker Possess strong leadership skills and business acumen.
