Let Us Tell You About this Position: Equity Construction Solutions (ECS) is a Central Ohio-based general contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality commercial construction projects. As a builder first, we offer comprehensive services including preconstruction, design-build, construction management, and Owner’s Representative support. ECS also leads projects developed by our affiliate, Equity Commercial Real Estate Solutions. Our experienced team has deep expertise across sectors such as healthcare, K-12 education, public sector, retail, restaurants, senior living, mixed-use/hospitality, and corporate office developments. The Director of Operations will ensure operational excellence and drive profitability by managing risk, schedules, and budgets for projects, proactively exceeding client expectations and supporting sustainable growth. Key Objectives: Manage P&L for all projects, including job cost comparisons, projections, project conditions, staffing, productivity, documentation, quality, safety, and compliance with corporate policies. Participate in project planning and monitor team execution to meet contractual and client obligations. Establish and maintain KPIs through Procore. Oversee pre-construction activities, ensuring operations are assigned to each project and that general conditions and design-build plans are incorporated into estimates. Develop general conditions models, verify schedules, and strategize bid packages. Monitor active projects using Procore (schedule, budget, meetings, observations/reports). Attend project meetings, monthly profitability meetings, and conduct monthly onsite visits. Drive project teams to achieve early completion and ensure buyouts are completed within six weeks of contract award. Maintain ECS Policy & Procedure manual with the Senior Operations Manager. Lead annual training and ensure compliance across teams. Manage and execute safety programs. Develop industry best practices and manage direct reports with clarity on responsibilities, authority, accountability, and performance metrics, including weekly pulse meetings. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or architecture. Minimum of 10 years of experience managing commercial construction projects, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role. Experience with retail and medical projects; experience in multi-family, mixed-use, and public projects is preferred. At least 3 years of experience in design-build projects. Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and building information modeling. Core Competencies: Deep understanding of construction trades, building systems, documentation, and design-build processes. Experience managing subcontractors. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, both verbal and written. Analytical, detail-oriented, with effective problem-solving abilities and multi-tasking skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Procore.
