Director Of Construction Operations
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Construction Operations to lead and manage our Construction Division. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction project execution, financial performance, team leadership, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale construction projects, driving profitability, and fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Conduct weekly operational meetings with selected staff.
- Oversee field personnel through the Operations Manager and/or Project Managers.
- Participate in project buyouts, ensuring competitive pricing for subcontractors, materials, and rentals over $5,000.
- Review and evaluate project estimates and coordinate transfer meetings.
- Collaborate with ownership to prioritize projects and monitor construction schedules.
- Lead monthly Crew Chief meetings and provide strategic feedback.
- Assign projects to Project Managers and ensure fiscal control and adherence to timelines.
- Attend owner, customer, and contractor meetings as needed.
- Oversee subcontractor relations and ensure effective communication across stakeholders.
- Review and validate construction change orders.
Financial Oversight
- Develop and manage division budgets and forecasts.
- Conduct gross profit reviews twice monthly.
- Approve accounts payable invoices over $5,000.
- Handle customer billing and collections.
- Provide detailed cost analysis and reporting to support financial decision-making.
- Monitor job cost reports and production goals to maintain profitability.
Team & Client Management
- Manage a team of Project Managers and office staff.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and manage day-to-day client interactions.
- Conduct performance reviews and support employee development.
- Oversee recruiting efforts for the Construction Division.
- Implement and enforce construction policies and procedures.
- Promote a positive team spirit and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Lead with a strong focus on health and safety across all job sites.
Skills & Qualifications
- 710+ years of experience in construction management or a related field.
- Significant leadership experience managing multiple large-scale projects.
- Strong strategic planning and execution capabilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive operational efficiency.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $170000.00 - $200000.00/yr.

This is a fully onsite position in Farmingdale, NY.
