Earthwork Laborer – Roadway & Highway Construction

Location: Tulsa, OK

Starting at $20/hr. and up – Based on Experience (DOE)

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious Earthwork Laborer to join our client's team in Tulsa. This role is essential in supporting roadway, highway, and site development projects by performing general labor tasks and operating heavy equipment. The ideal candidate is a hard-working team player who thrives in outdoor, physically demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and clean job sites by removing debris, trash, and other materials.

  • Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment.

  • Perform manual labor including shoveling, trenching, and compacting soil.

  • Operate and assist in the operation of heavy equipment such as:

    • Skid steers

    • Motor Grader

    • Excavators

    • Bulldozers

    • Rollers/Compactors

    • Loaders

    • Backhoes

  • Assist with grading, trenching, backfilling, and other earthmoving tasks related to roadway and highway construction.

  • Support crew members and contribute to overall project success.

  • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times.

  • Report any job site issues to the foreman or supervisor immediately.

Experience & Education

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Valid driver's license required; CDL a plus.

  • Experience operating heavy equipment strongly preferred.

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and industrial physical.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift:

    • 5–25 lbs frequently

    • 25–50 lbs often

    • 50–100 lbs occasionally (with assistance)

  • Must be able to stand, walk, shovel, stoop, kneel, crouch, and operate equipment for extended periods (8+ hours).

  • Willingness to work overtime and travel as required (including occasional overnight stays).

  • Must maintain situational awareness and attention to safety at all times on active construction sites.
