As the Electrical Engineer for Yancey Engineered Solutions, you will be responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems within generator enclosure. You will ensure reliable power generation through proper sizing, protection, synchronization, testing, troubleshooting, and compliance with electrical standards.
Major tasks, responsibilities, and key accountabilities include:
- Design and specify electrical systems within generator enclosure
- Develop and review single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
- Conduct protection coordination and grounding system design.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA).
- Provide technical support and installation instructions for generator operations.
- Additional duties as assigned by manager.
Education/experience:
- The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree. Degree in electrical engineering preferred.
- Professional experience with SolidWorks 3D Software.
Required qualifications/skills:
- Ability to work within a fast-paced, team driven environment
- Ability to work with highly-customized products
- Ability to handle pressured situations with professionalism and calm and work without supervision
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical engineering drawings
- Ability to read tape measure
- Ability to communicate plans, goals and information effectively to the workforce
- Good mathematical skills
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and Outlook
- Knowledge of SolidWorks Simulations
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment
Environmental job requirements:
- Willing to work in extreme weather conditions and around loud noises.
- Environment may include vibrations, strong odors, moving mechanical parts, exposure to electrical shock, flammable liquids and gases, oils and solvents, working on platforms or equipment over 4 feet from the ground.
Physical:
- Will require appropriate Personal Protection Equipment to be worn.
Travel:
- Typically requires travel 10% of the time.
To be successful in this position you should be process oriented, show attention to detail, and have a sense of urgency. You should excel at working in a team environment with a customer service driven mentality. The ability to multitask and problem solve are essential to this position as well.
