ABOUT YOU
As Environmental Manager, Construction Compliance, you thrive at the intersection of environmental science and construction, bringing sharp attention to detail, sound judgment, and a proactive mindset to ensure projects meet the highest environmental standards. You communicate clearly, collaborate easily across teams and agencies, and stay calm and solutions-focused when challenges arise. Organized and ethical, you take pride in safeguarding public infrastructure projects through strong environmental compliance, helping deliver work that aligns with regulatory requirements and protects the communities Massport serves.
What you will do:
Provide expert guidance on environmental compliance for active construction projects, ensuring adherence to permits, the MCP, and other regulatory requirements.
Review and comment on contractor submittals, plans, and specifications, and participate in project meetings to address environmental concerns in real time.
Oversee soil and waste management during construction, including tracking, profiling, documentation, and coordination of offsite disposal.
Manage an environmental consultant, lead inspections, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to support compliance and project delivery.
WHAT YOU OFFER
Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering, environmental science, or related field.
Minimum seven years' experience in environmental compliance for design/construction projects, including MCP site work in Massachusetts.
Current certifications: 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER, OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety, RCRA/DOT manifest training.
Strong communication skills and knowledge of design, construction, and state/federal regulations, including Massachusetts public bidding.
