Estimator/Senior Estimator
Join a top mid-sized general contractor known for their integrity of work, family-first culture, and community involvement. They specialize in commercial and multifamily construction and are looking for an estimator/senior estimator to join the team for the long haul, promoting into a leadership position within five years.
Job Description:
- Review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, bid strategy, and marketing presentations as requested.
- Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of certain sections and reviewing vendor quotations.
- Review and incorporate historical data from prior projects as required.
- Interface with owner, A/E and/or subcontractors to provide accurate cost estimates.
- Prepare conceptual estimates as needed by our clients.
- Participate in plan review and estimating reviews for prospective projects.
- Understanding of construction specifications and blueprint reading.
- Responsible for soliciting subcontractors/suppliers to ensure proper coverage.
- Utilize and complete the subcontractor pre-qualification.
- Identify and distribute documents to interested bidders.
- Leadership during the design process through a design-assist process, value engineering opportunities, alternates and material replacements, new techniques/ideas/products, and subcontractor relationships.
- Lead efforts to secure long lead subcontractors and materials.
- Work with cities and municipalities to identify and procure required permits.

The Successful Applicant:
- BA/BS degree in construction management, engineering, or 3+ years experience in the estimating or project management field.
- Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
- Ground up project knowledge and experience preferred.
- Proficient in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Sage, MS Project.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Interested in mentorship opportunity.
- Quantity takeoff and cost estimate experience.
What's on Offer:
- Base salary ranging from $110,000 - $130,000 depending on experience.
