Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to read and interpret plans, extensive knowledge of construction processes, and the capability to prepare accurate project cost estimates.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications to develop detailed and accurate cost estimates.
Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, and suppliers to collect necessary data for accurate estimates.
Review project requirements, timelines, and budgets to ensure feasibility.
Prepare bid documents.
Work to refine and enhance pricing strategies and the estimating process to improve accuracy and competitiveness.
Monitor and search for Request for Proposal (RFP) opportunities and ensure timely submissions.
Follow up on inquiries and maintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
Monitor market trends and pricing changes in the construction industry.
Prepare and submit professional, detailed bid proposals to clients and contractors.
Qualifications
Required Minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably as an estimator or recent graduate from an AEC program.
Ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints, and specifications accurately.
Preferred Experience working for a General Contractor (GC).
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Experience with estimating/takeoff software, i.e. Bluebeam.
