New York construction firm is seeking an Estimator with excellent working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and the New York State Building Code ion many design-build projects.
Project Analysis:
Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand project requirements and scope.
Cost Estimation:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services based on project specifications and historical data.
Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination:
Solicit and review quotes from vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
Value Engineering:
Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions without compromising quality or integrity.
Bid Preparation:
Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids and proposals for submission to clients.
Client Interaction:
Collaborate with clients to address questions, concerns, and requests for proposal clarifications.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and project-related documentation.
Qualifications
Estimating position requires experience in multifamily housing, adult congregate living facilities, hotels, student housing, senior living projects, and light industrial. Large-scale solar projects are a plus, but not a requirement. An excellent working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and the New York State Building Code is a must as we are a team member on many design-build projects. A 2/4 year college degree is desired, but not mandatory depending on experience in the noted requirements.
