Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Estimator will report to and be supported by the Vice President of Estimating and is expected to be comfortable reading and understanding construction documents independently. Primary duties and responsibilities include: o To ensure the quality and timeliness of all estimating and bidding activities.

Review bid documents and examine plans and specifications to prepare a complete scope of work.
To prepare bids after quantifying and qualifying all material quantities for final review.
Check the accuracy of take-offs and prepare bid packages using estimating and bidding software.
Communicate with internal and external sources and be ready to work flexible hours to ensure bid submission deadlines are met.
Receive requests for estimating and gather necessary information such as vendor quotes, plans, bidding manuals, specifications, addenda and revisions.
Research material requirements, including finishes, accessories and installation methods.
Follow up with bids or prospects to close transactions
Keep Construction leadership informed and engaged on all potential projects.
Ability and aptitude to lead full bid pursuits from 1-15M

The Successful Applicant
SKILLS: 3 + years of estimating or budgeting industry experience includes prior work experience at any of the following related firms: Construction (General Contractor, Construction Manager, Subcontractor) o Project Management / Owner's Representation o Design (Architecture, Engineering, etc.)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor's or Associates Degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering or related field. o At least 5 years of experience (as noted above).
Excellent organizational, problem solving, presentation, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Thorough knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, construction cost, scheduling and accounting principles. Proficient with the following software applications (at a minimum): Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) ,Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, Adobe Acrobat, Blue Beam Revu or other PDF developers/editors)
