About the Role
The Company is in search of an Executive Director for Facilities, Planning, Design, and Construction (FPCD) to spearhead the strategic development of its extensive physical footprint. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader with a strong background in transforming environments that support world-class care, research, and education. This role is pivotal in driving the planning, design, and execution of capital projects that have a significant impact on the community. The Executive Director will be responsible for all facility assets, including the development, planning, interior design, construction, and capital renovation of spaces that serve a diverse range of stakeholders.
Key responsibilities for the Executive Director include providing senior leadership in facilities planning and development, managing departmental and project budgets, and ensuring all new facilities comply with relevant building codes. The role also involves participating in the development of master plans, aligning departmental plans with the organization's strategic goals, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, with a Master's degree preferred, and a minimum of 10 years of management experience in a complex academic medical center. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential, as is a deep understanding of regulatory compliance, financial management, and the operational aspects of a healthcare facility. The Executive Director will also be responsible for building and maintaining collaborative relationships, overseeing training programs, and ensuring the department operates efficiently while meeting budgetary parameters.
