Pay : $110,000 - $130,000
Work Schedule : Monday - Friday; some evenings/weekends
Full-Time position is eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Short Term Disability, Life/Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Flexible Spending Accounts, Long Term Disability, and several voluntary supplemental benefit offerings. JOB SUMMARY:
The Director II, Facilities and Construction Management is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational oversight of all company-owned and leased physical assets, including retail stores, distribution centers, administrative offices, and mission service facilities. This role ensures that all locations are designed, built, and maintained to support the organization’s business objectives and mission-driven programs, balancing cost, compliance, and functionality.
This position plays a critical role in supporting the organization’s ability to scale, ensuring physical infrastructure is safe, sustainable, cost-effective, and aligned with both operational needs and community impact goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Strategic Facilities Planning:
Develop and execute long-range facilities plans that support growth, efficiency, and mission delivery.
Coordinate with executive leadership on capital planning and risk mitigation related to physical infrastructure.
2. Construction and Project Oversight:
Lead all construction projects from site evaluation through closeout, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and brand standards.
Manage timelines, budgets, and quality control across multiple concurrent capital projects.
Oversee coordination with architects, engineers, contractors, permitting agencies, and internal stakeholders.
3. Facilities Operations and Maintenance:
Oversee maintenance and repair activities for all facilities, ensuring functionality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Lead the development and implementation of preventative maintenance and asset replacement programs.
Ensure consistent service levels across all sites, including reactive maintenance response protocols.
4. Budgeting and Vendor Management:
Develop and manage capital and operating budgets related to facilities and construction.
Lead procurement and contract management for vendors providing construction, maintenance, and facility services.
Monitor performance against Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and cost benchmarks.
Directs all aspects of the Purchasing Department with emphasis on acquiring materials which ensure optimum value for dollar spent within the director’s scope of management.
Approves and authorizes payment of bills up to $10,000.
5. Compliance, Safety, and Sustainability:
Ensure all buildings meet local, State, and Federal regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), CARF, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), fire/life safety codes, and environmental requirements.
Collaborate with Safety, Risk, and Loss Prevention teams to mitigate facility-related hazards and maintain facilities’ security equipment to include security cameras, locks, all entrance alarms, and the issuance and accounting for security codes.
Integrate energy management and sustainability practices into construction and maintenance programs.
6. Team and Cross-Functional Leadership:
Directly supervise and provide leadership, training, and support to assigned managers and personnel in all areas of departmental management including, but not limited to, customer service, personnel supervision, departmental layout, company cleanliness, and company security.
Works to develop candidate(s) for succession planning.
Serve as a key liaison between facilities and other departments, including Retail, Logistics, Information Technology (IT), Mission Services, and Finance.
Provide guidance on space planning, site readiness, and facility support for new programs or initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field. A Master’s degree or certifications (CFM, PMP, LEED, etc.) is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in facilities and/or construction management, ideally within retail, logistics, or multi-use nonprofit environments.
Experience managing complex portfolios including retail stores, warehouses, and community-based facilities.
Key Interfaces:
Executive Leadership Team (capital planning and strategic alignment).
Retail, Logistics, and Mission Services teams (daily operational support).
Accounting/Finance (budgeting and capital tracking).
Legal and Real Estate (leasing, compliance, and property matters).
Safety and Risk Management (code compliance and emergency response).
Other:
Strong knowledge of building systems, capital planning, construction methodologies, and regulatory compliance.
Proven success in leading large-scale projects and geographically dispersed teams.
Ability to balance mission-driven priorities with commercial execution and Return on Investment (ROI) discipline.
Strong project management, financial acumen, and vendor negotiation skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication and leadership skills with a commitment to operational excellence and organizational values.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. Must have experience working with computer systems such as Microsoft Office.
Must have the ability to lift moderate to heavy weight (75 pounds).
Must maintain confidentiality.
Weekend hours may be required.
Must be neat and professional, always representing Goodwill well.
Must be process-focused, data-driven and results- oriented.
The incumbent will be required and must have the ability to drive for company business*.
*Per auto vehicle insurance carrier requirements: For applicants/employees to qualify for inclusion on the Goodwill driver insurance schedule, for purpose of driving Goodwill fleet vehicles, or for purpose of receiving company mileage reimbursement they must be at least:
19 years of age (not engaged in passenger transportation),
25 – 70 years of age for all passenger transportation services,
21 years of age for CDL.
