ROLE OVERVIEW and PURPOSE:
The Facilities Construction Manager provides a broad range of facilities construction project planning, management, and analytical services to support strategic multi-disciplinary, enterprise-wide Neighborhood projects. Provides standardized methodologies, applications, interfacing, infrastructure, and process re-design expertise that leads to successful implementation of moderate and large projects. Applies knowledge of emerging technologies, resource allocation, capital and operating budget forecasting, development, documentation, and status reporting.
**Please note, this is a hybrid position with a typical schedule of 30 hours on-site and 10 hours remote each week.**
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide regular project updates to all levels of management
- Provide input to the project prioritization process to ensure prioritization and funding availability to support operational goals
- Identify, escalate, and resolve issues which might affect operational targets
- Manage daily operational aspects of assigned projects including integration of project activities, project resourcing, financial achievement, meeting scope, EHS compliance and completion
- Execute the implementation of managed projects through all project phases (initiation through closeout) including identification of stakeholder responsibilities and deliverables
- Regular tracking and communication of implementation progress, tracking of equipment and materials delivery, installation, and testing, tracking and assignment of project deliverables with stakeholders
- Maintain accurate project milestone dates
- Create visible and predictable data for key business metrics to ensure actionable tasks
- Complete contractor selection through RFP process and recommend ideal candidate using data driven process
- Drive and oversee construction project design through permit issuance
- Provide full construction management services for the duration of the project and communicate any budget or timeline variances
- Lead weekly construction meetings and provide guidance to the contractor on any additions/moves/changes
Drive and oversee internal teams to ensure all facets of the project are in order through ongoing internal team meetings

- Track each department’s progress to ensure the milestones are being met
- Track and report monthly project financials to the Senior Director of Facilities with explanation of budget variances
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree plus a minimum of three years continuous experience working in the healthcare or life-sciences construction field with moderate to large project management experience leading cross-functional teams
In lieu of bachelor’s degree, eight years increasingly responsible construction project experience. Master's degree and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
Project Management methodology training required
Project management experience within a multi-facility health care system is strongly preferred
Minimum of 5 years construction management experience
Current OSHA training certification
OSHPD/HCAI experience working in an operating hospital setting highly preferred
Healthcare project manager experience managing multiple capital improvement projects (OSHPD & OSHPD 3) in various phases from design through completion and closeout preferred
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Proficient in MS Office using personal computers and office automation software including word processing, spreadsheet, and database
- Experience in the management of moderate to complex projects and an in-depth knowledge of project management software, MS Project is preferred
- Understanding of California building codes and regulations
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings
- Knowledge of local state and federal building standards
- Proficient in Procore construction software

Ability to lift/carry 50lbs/weight
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Pay range: $113,700 - $172,800 annually, depending on experience.
Compensation Disclosure: The posted salary range reflects the designated pay grade for this position. While this range represents the broader classification of the role, actual compensation will be based on several factors, including but not limited to: the candidate’s overall knowledge, skills, and experience, market data and industry benchmarks, internal equity within the organization, Budgetary considerations and organizational needs. As a result, placement within the range is not guaranteed, and the full pay grade range may not be utilized.
