Summary
The Assistant Field Construction Coordinator (“FCCA”) provides support to the field construction coordination team by helping to organize on-site activities, manage documentation, and facilitate communication among contractors, vendors, and project management staff. This role ensures the smooth operation of construction projects by assisting in planning, scheduling, logistics, and quality assurance under the guidance of senior field staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform QA/QC and program management duties as directed.
- Availability to support emergency storm restoration efforts.
- Under the guidance of the FCC, the FCCA will assist with oversight of electric utility work performed for Electric Operations by line contractors to ensure the best interest of the client. This role will be responsible for a number of contractor crews.
- The FCCA will be responsible for field check crews, quality control, handle paperwork and scheduling.
- The FCCA will represent the Company with assisting the FCC in working with the contractor supervisor/working foreman for the duration of the project to make sure material resource needs are met, construction plan is followed, and project paperwork needed for invoice approval is submitted in a timely manner.
- The FCCA will assist with field inspections and monitor the contractor to ensure conformity of electric distribution and/or transmission projects to the client’s construction standards.
- The FCCA may be required to interact with a wide range of stakeholders (internal and external) to resolve problems and minimize project delays.
- All other tasks as assigned by management.
Skills & Abilities
- Very organized, and able provide a good paper trail.
- Able to thrive in a team environment.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Good working knowledge through actual use of MS Office products including Excel, Access, Word and MS Project.
- Basic knowledge of various electric utility assets and equipment.
- Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences both in writing and verbally. Ability to interact effectively to other groups within the Company organization.
- Must have extensive knowledge in construction and maintenance of utility equipment, including but not limited to transmission and distribution systems, underground networks and substations.
- Extensive knowledge of electric utility industry materials and equipment is a must.
- Able to assess the health of utility assets and equipment as they relate to the utility inspection program.
- Capable of moderate to extensive travel, with some overnight stays, to various locations.
- Able to physically walk distribution lines or remote transmission right of ways.
- Experience in interaction with contractors and assessing their work.
- Pass pre-employment drug & background screens.
