Position Summary: This position is responsible for providing construction and administrative assistance and carrying out the duties required for the day to day operations of moderate to complex construction projects under the direction and supervision of  the WCNOC Construction Supervisor, and/or ensure timely, predictable and safe implementation of assigned construction/plant modification projects.
Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers and Design Engineers to ensure constructability issues are identified and addressed early in project design phases.
Attend constructability meetings and assist with determination of project requirements
Inspect / oversee construction projects to ensure the project meets WCNOC procedural and design requirements.
Inspects all phases of construction projects, including but not limited to:  trenching, pipe installation, manholes, water services, firelines and hydrants, structures, roadways, sidewalks, building, electrical installations (raceway, cable, etc).
Works with Project Manager, Planner, Construction Supervisor, or Craft Superintendent to resolve field issues or conflicts in a timely manner.  Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the project team.
Assist Craft Superintendents in storage and tracking of material for construction projects
Attend craft start of shift kick-off meetings to ensure quality of meetings are adequate and specific items such as the plan of the day, safety, quality hold points, assignments, etc are all being properly communicated.  Ensure craft labor is being afforded the opportunity to raise issues without fear of retaliation.
Periodically monitor work package status to ensure proper placekeeping is being maintained, material properly documented (quantity, stock issue requests, lot numbers, etc), Hold Points are easily identified and not bypassed, etc.
Periodically monitor storage areas to ensure compliance with WCNOC procedures (i.e. chemical cabinets, material laydown/storage, segregation of non-safety related and safety related material, general safety and housekeeping.
Assist craft Supervision with obtaining necessary permits (i.e. breach, impairment, ignition source, confined space, etc) prior to the start of work.
Monitor quality of work being performed by contract personnel.  Correct issues immediately and report them up through the WCNOC Construction Supervision.
Assist craft Supervision in obtaining necessary work package revisions with the assigned Planner.
Performs inspection of specific installations (as directed by an approved work package) and utilize construction knowledge to sign-off  WCNOC Representative Hold Points indicating that appropriate quality attributes have been met.
Conducts final "walk-through" of construction projects to ensure all design requirements have been implemented
Chair meetings with contract Supervision, WCNOC Construction Supervision, Project Managers, etc to ensure issues are assigned and resolved, work packages properly prioritized to stay ahead of field work.
Maintain a daily construction log which should summarize such items as: work performed, issues/assignments, delays (why), condition reports generated, safety / human performance issues, etc. Log book should be made available to WCNOC Construction Supervision when requested.
