Project Safety Assistant
As a Project Safety Assistant for a general contracting firm specializing in commercial construction, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Project Safety Coordinator in ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel on our job sites. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs that comply with OSHA regulations and company policies. Your primary goal will be to minimize risks and prevent accidents through proactive safety measures and continuous monitoring.

Skills and Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience within building and general construction
- Must have practical knowledge, working experience, and documented continuing education from the most recent 5 years - within in the following:
- Fall protection
- Scaffolds
- Excavation
- Confined space
- Crane/equipment operations
- Electrical
- Incident investigation
- Obtain valid and up to date certification within the following OSHA certifications 10, 30, 510 and 500 (or 502)
- Provide valid, up to date CPR and AED certification
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of job sites to identify potential hazards.
- Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures tailored to each project.
- Provide safety training and education to employees, subcontractors, and site visitors.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety into all phases of construction.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability among all team members.
