Hughes General Contractors is actively seeking an experienced, motivated, and strong leader for a Heavy Civil Foreman/Superintendent role. This is a very hands on position in which you will oversee and work side by side with a crew of heavy equipment operators and laborers. What your day will look like: Supervise all field operations with a very hands on approach Determine sequence and coordinate all activities for a heavy civil crew Excellent ability to operate all types of heavy equipment for dirt and site projects. Knowledgeable in the areas of dirt work, including excavation, grade work, surveying and final excavating work. Read, understand, interpret and enforce safety policies and practices. Examines blueprints to determine dimensions of structure. Lays out floor-plan/worksite as needed. Inspects work performed by subordinates to ensure conformance with specifications. Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Shoot grades with level and with some knowledge of GPS Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product to increase efficiency of work crew. Analyzes and resolves work problems, assists workers in solving work problems, and initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials. Perform other assignments as assigned What we'll need from you: A minimum of 5 years of supervising / crew leadership experience A minimum of 3 years of experience of heavy civil construction A minimum of 5 year of operating large heavy equipment experience Strong understating of safely Be able to carry 70 lbs. or more repetitively Physically able to bend, climb, twist, balance, stoop, etc. High School diploma/GED preferred. Special Requirements: Must be able to pass controlled substance tests prior to and at all times during employment.
