Company Overview

Civil/utility contractor with over 15 years of experience and specializing in land preparation for vertical development. Operations throughout Florida providing services for matting, access road construction, vegetation clearing, and post-construction restoration for powerline, utility, oil & gas, and infrastructure clients across the state.

Job Summary
We are hiring a seasoned Wheel Loader/Skid Steer Operator with experience with various access matting (Crane/Wood, Timber Matts, DuraBase, MegaDeck, etc.). Work primarily includes operating loaders to load, off-load various types of matting to/from trucks, move, lay, and pick-up matting on electrical Transmission Right of Ways. Past work experience in the high voltage utility market a plus for safety knowledge and standards mandated by the utility companies. Ideal candidate will live in Florida anywhere between Tallahassee and Okeechobee or be willing to re-locate. Work is primarily throughout the State of Florida but travel/work in other states may be required. Work schedule is client/work driven where weekend work may be required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment
  • Install, reposition, and remove access mats
  • Perform pre- and post-shift inspections
  • Coordinate with crew members
  • Adhere strictly to company safety protocols and OSHA regulations
  • Respond to environmental or site challenges
  • Support mat transport logistics
  • Assist crew with manual tasks
Experience/Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience in civil construction, site work, utility support, or matting access projects.
  • Valid drivers license
  • Authorized to work in US
  • Experience in ground or utility site environments (e.g. wetlands, pipeline ROW, remote terrain) strongly preferred
  • Experience with DuraBase or MegaDeck mats strongly preferred
