Baldwin Paving Company, Inc. is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator Loader to join our team. This is a full-time position based primarily out of our Marietta, GA asphalt plant, which will serve as the employees home work location. This position reports to the Plant Manager.

While this role has a designated home plant, employees may be assigned to support other company asphalt plants within the Greater Atlanta area on an as-needed basis, depending on operational demands.

This position requires flexibility in scheduling. Work schedules may include day or night shifts, long hours, and weekend work (including Saturdays and Sundays) as business needs require.

Employees must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to assigned work locations when needed.

This position requires prior experience operating heavy equipment in environments such as construction sites, quarries, asphalt plants, or aggregate yards. Warehouse forklift experience alone does not meet the minimum qualifications.

Essential functions include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Summary: The Operator - Loader's primary function is to safely and efficiently operate a front-end loader to move and load materials for asphalt production and aggregate operations in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Ability to operate a front-end loader safely and efficiently to move materials such as aggregate, sand, and recycled asphalt within the plant yard or job site. * Ability to work safely around haul trucks, stockpiles, moving equipment, and uneven terrain. * Conduct pre-operation inspections, report mechanical issues, and follow all safety protocols and site procedures. * Inspect and perform basic maintenance on the loader to ensure safe and efficient operation.

* Ability to detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions and respond accordingly. * Assist with plant operations as needed, including material handling and cleanup. * Communicate effectively with plant personnel to coordinate material flow and maintain productions schedules. * Ability to follow directions.

Other Requirements:

Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times. Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary. Report to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start time. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual. Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA and company policy. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position: Gloves, Hard Hat, Hearing Protection, Respiratory Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety (hard toe) Shoes.

Education High School diploma or equivalent desired but not required.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving and mechanical parts and equipment. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Employees will be exposed to dust and fumes from cleaners, gasoline, diesel, exhaust, etc. Employees will work outdoors and will be exposed to the weather, including extremes in heat and cold, rain, etc.

Physical Demands:

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and requires manual dexterity and strength in arms and feet to manipulate equipment controls, tools, and other items used to make adjustments and/or minor maintenance. Will use hands, arms, back, and shoulders to handle, install, position, move items, and manipulate other objects. Could be in a standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting position for long periods of time.

This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Some weekend hours may be available as well.
