Responsibilities
Southwestern United States Construction Specialist Responsibilities: In this role, you will deploy to a disaster site to support FEMA in the delivery of a disaster recovery program. Responsibilities will include site assessments of disaster-damaged residential and commercial structures, including those constructed using Adobe material and related building techniques. You will prepare detailed reports of the inspections that include site descriptions, a summary of damages including damage dimensions, material quantities and site pictures, and other relevant data, as well as prepare detailed facility restoration estimates. You may represent the client in legal proceedings, either written or in person, offering expert testimony on Adobe construction techniques, best practices, schedule and cost.
Required Skills & Required Experience
Required Skills and Experience:
- Must have high school diploma. BS in engineering, architecture, construction management or similar field is highly preferred. MS in same fields is preferred.
- A minimum of ten years of combined experience in architectural design and/or construction management. At least 5 years of experience working with Adobe building material and construction techniques. 10 years of experience in Adobe construction is preferred.
- Experience in assessing the scope and cost to restore disaster-related damages is preferred.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be proficient with MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Must be a U.S. citizen capable of passing a federal background investigation to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
