Job Details: We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Estimator to join our team who has experience estimating commercial, retail, healthcare, or something similar. This is an incredible opportunity for someone who has a keen eye for detail and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for overseeing all estimating functions within the company, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness in all bids. This role is integral to the success of our projects, and as such, we are looking for someone who is ready to take on the challenge and help us continue to grow and succeed.
Responsibilities: 1. Lead, manage and coordinate the estimating team in the preparation of all project and tender estimates. 2. Review and analyze project plans, requirements, and specifications. 3. Prepare detailed cost estimates including all aspects of construction, from conceptual to final design. 4. Conduct site visits and gather all necessary data to accurately estimate costs. 5. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to provide cost estimates and budget forecasts. 6. Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure they meet project specifications and budget. 7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, and construction technology advancements. 8. Develop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. 9. Present and explain project budgets to clients and stakeholders. 10. Continually review and improve estimating processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications: 1. A minimum of 8 years of experience as an Estimator in the Commercial Construction industry. 2. In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations. 3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to accurately estimate costs and create detailed project budgets. 4. Proficiency in using estimating software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. 5. Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and succinctly. 6. Strong leadership skills with experience managing and coordinating a team. 7. Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. 8. A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. 9. Professional Estimator Certification is highly desirable.
