Exciting Opportunity: Become Our Lead Estimator for Civil Construction Projects! We are thrilled to welcome skilled professionals to apply for the Lead Estimator position, an integral role within our client's Executive Leadership Team. This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $120k to $150K, alongside bonuses and extensive benefits. Job Overview: Organize bid documents, create drawing logs, and upload construction plans and specifications to the firm's FTP site. Identify document inconsistencies and devise strategies for successful bidding. Engage with potential subcontractors, prepare RFPs, and compile a comprehensive bidders' list of subcontractors. Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings to fully understand project scope. Create precise quantity take-offs to support accurate bidding. Assess and level bids submitted by subcontractors and vendors. Clarify bid documents and prepare RFIs for architects, ensuring efficient communication of information. Coordinate and compile project bids and proposals for delivery to the Owner or Owner's Representative. Negotiate and draft contracts with subcontractors/vendors and material purchase orders based on bid qualifications. Prepare and monitor submittals to confirm that the correct materials and quantities are used in projects. Oversee ongoing projects for cost management, profitability, and compliance with schedules. Effectively document and manage any change orders. Lead and mentor a team of estimators, promoting growth and collaboration. Qualifications: 10-15 years of substantial experience in underground utilities, excavation, and roadway/asphalt paving. Experience with HCSS Software is highly preferred. A degree in a relevant field is preferred. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and design professionals.
