The Maintenance & Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and directing all construction, maintenance, and repair activities for public infrastructure projects. This role involves leading teams, managing projects, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction and maintenance within the public sector, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Plan, direct, and manage daily operations in construction and maintenance projects. Supervise a team of workers and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. Coordinate with other government departments, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met. Develop project budgets and schedules, and monitor expenditures to ensure financial objectives are achieved. Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring compliance with government regulations and policies. Provide status reports and presentations to government officials and the public on project progress and challenges. Implement disaster recovery plans and ensure the structural safety of all projects under supervision. Respond to emergencies and unforeseen problems affecting the infrastructure. Strong leadership and personnel management skills. Expertise in construction management software and tools. Familiarity with municipal, state, and federal regulations and building codes. Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to read and interpret complex construction documents and blueprints. Proficiency in budget and project management.
