OVERVIEW:
The Market Director is responsible for management of the construction and technical operations of an assigned market. This individual is tasked with producing quality work to customer specifications within the timeframe and budget required. Plan, coordinate and manage multiple projects while supervising project managers, field employees and subcontractors and ensuring that assigned market meets set financial goals. All of this is accomplished by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the complete P&L of a market. Objective is to produce a highly profitable business in the assigned market, with high quality workmanship and high-quality employees.
Expected to produce between $7M and $12M in revenue each fiscal year, with a minimum net profit of 12%.
Manage expenses of the market and ensure they are managed closely and that expenses are reviewed regularly for potential savings and cost cuttings.
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the market assigned.
Determines work force requirements and establishes production schedules to meet service loads. Estimates worker hour requirements for completion of each job assignment.
Meets with customers to promote business and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Responsible for enforcing all company and OSHA safety practices and interprets company policies to workers.
Oversees the hiring and firing of employees. Ensures that performance reviews are done on all employees. Administers salary increases as warranted. Disciplines employees as needed. Enforces all company policies and procedures.
Reviews and processes all RFPs assigned to that market. Works with ownership and local team to formulate competitive bids. Works closely with local customers to ensure scopes of work are properly understood.
Process and review all paperwork generated from outside office (time- sheets, job sheets, reports, and production records) for accuracy, completeness, and details.
Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with job production procedures in cooperation with other Field Supervisors to maximize service reliability and minimize costs.
Investigates and addresses customer complaints regarding quality. Enforces quality control measures to ensure quality issues are corrected internally.
Acts as liaison between Company, Field Personnel and Customers.
Oversees supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in executing work procedures and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
Prepares reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Confers with supervisory personnel to resolve complaints and grievances within work force.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Manages range 2-4 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of range 6-12 employees in the Construction/Tower/Technical Field Crews. Is responsible for the direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.
Supervise crews to ensure top quality workmanship
Interviewing, selecting, and training of employees
Setting and adjusting their rates of pay and hours of work – foremen are responsible for determining, directing the work of employees
Maintaining job records for use in supervision or control
Appraising employees’ productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in status
Handling employee complaints and grievances; disciplining employees
Planning the work
determining the techniques to be used
Apportioning the work among the employees
Determining the type of materials, supplies, machinery, equipment, or tools to be used
Controlling the flow and distribution of materials and supplies
Providing for the safety and security of the employees or the property
Planning and controlling the budget
Monitoring or implementing legal compliance measures.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to execute safety and quality control plans.
Ability to interact on a daily basis with customers regarding project planning.
Working knowledge and experience with project/contract budgets.
Must have the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in multiple locations, and possess strong organizational, communication and leadership skills.
Must be capable of developing project cost estimates and have knowledge of the local subcontractor market.
Basic computer experience, including use of Microsoft Excel. Knowledge and experience of project and construction practices.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and regulatory personnel.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required to have a minimum of 7 years of telecom, construction, electronics, and technical experience.
Experience with tower safety/rescue, Anritsu, Comtrain, CommScope, or Andrew certifications are a plus.
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent from an accredited four-year with a major in Business or Engineering preferred.
