Job Details
Responsibilities:
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical construction projects, including HVAC and pipe installations, based on engineering drawings, technical specifications, and other project documentation. * Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for each project to determine the overall cost. * Use Quote Soft estimating software to prepare and present detailed and accurate bid proposals. * Participate in project meetings and conduct site visits to gather essential information for accurate estimating. * Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure all aspects of the project are considered in the estimate. * Review and evaluate cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness. * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, and construction processes to provide the most accurate estimates. * Manage multiple estimates simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met.
Qualifications:
* A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in mechanical construction estimating, specifically in the contracting industry. * Trade school education in a related field. * Journeyman license is required. * Extensive knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems, including HVAC and pipe installations. * Strong understanding of the Baltimore and Washington DC area construction market. * Proven experience with Quote Soft estimating software. * Demonstrated ability to estimate mechanical projects up to $10 million. * Conceptual estimating experience is a must. * Excellent analytical and mathematical skills. * Strong communication and presentation skills. * Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. * Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
