The Mechanical Construction Superintendent for Polk Mechanical Provides supervision and management for work performed on systems ranging in difficulty from small basic commercial installations to large complex projects involving multiple plumbing systems. He/she also assists in administrating the company safety program and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
This full-time position is responsible for supervising work performed on systems ranging in difficulty from small basic commercial
Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of corporate policy.
Initiate and maintain liaison with prime clients and A/E contacts, to facilitate construction activities.
Manage/Direct/Lead project field manpower to ensure the project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
Represent the company in project meetings, assist in strategy meetings, etc.
Manage the quality of products/systems installed
Manage/Schedule manpower to maintain/improve labor budget
Work in conjunction with the project manager
Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives.
Requirements
Minimum 10 years of verifiable experience in the plumbing/piping/sheet metal trades and a minimum of 5 years of verifiable supervisory experience
Minimum 5 years experience in managing projects 35 million plus
Thorough knowledge of all plumbing systems including installation means/methods from domestic water to medical gas
Thorough knowledge of piping systems including installation means/methods
Thorough understanding of ductwork systems including installation means/methods
Excellent communication skills and the ability to successfully interact with employees and clients on a professional level
The ability to supervise multiple foremen
The ability to schedule projects and meet deadlines
