Requirements
All the relevant skills, qualifications and experience that a successful applicant will need are listed in the following description.
Experience: 5–10 years in mechanical field engineering or industrial construction.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required. (Extensive hands-on experience in industrial building construction may be considered in lieu of a degree.)
Certifications: Journeyman-level mechanical knowledge is highly preferred.
Technical Background:
Extensive experience with HVAC systems, industrial piping, and mechanical equipment installation.
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, cost controls, and trade coordination.
Familiarity with heavy industrial building construction, including expansions and retrofits.
Industry Focus:
Automotive or industrial building experienc e strongly preferred.
Experience managing union contractors and building trades is a plus.
Commercial retail (e.g., fast food), hospitals, and oil & gas experience are less applicable.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Self-directed, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying and resolving field issues.
Effective communicator with the ability to liaise between tradespeople, contractors, and project leadership.
Comfortable working in active construction environments and flexible with plant shutdown scheduling.
Brings practical problem-solving experience and engineering judgment to fast-paced industrial projects
