Mega-Site Construction Manager
Meta is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our Data Center Design, Engineering & Construction team.
Responsibilities include managing the construction, commissioning, and turnover of a Data Center within a campus program, managing the budget associated with the project, managing the cost change process and negotiating best pricing, managing the schedule and associated risks to ensure reliable and predictable turnover dates, managing warranty and tenant improvement work in the live environment when/as necessary, communicating upward regarding the status and risks of the project, negotiating vendor and contractor contracts and purchase orders as needed, mitigating risk for the project through pre-planning, innovative planning, and partnership, developing cost savings solutions and identifying project savings/underruns early, partnering with the General Contractor and other Vendors to build collaborative relationships, partnering with internal cross-functional partners to build collaborative relationships, coordinating needs and asks with the Procurement/Sourcing group(s) to support the needs of the Project, supporting the pre-construction efforts for upcoming projects, promoting prefabrication strategies, supporting the development of Capital Project Budgets and Constructions ROMs, supporting the Campus Construction Manager with the campus-wide book of work including contractor, designer, and vendor management, supporting the on-site inspection process to ensure a zero punch-list and an expeditious turnover to FacOps, supporting the Regional Construction Operations Manager in the management of the regional book of work including contractor, designer, and vendor management, supporting the local DC Ops team and other cross-functional departments as needed, promoting and modeling an attitude of continuous improvement, partnership, and teamwork in behaviors and communications, supporting and leading an industry leading safety program, promoting and modeling an attitude of openness to giving, seeking, and receiving 360-degree feedback, 10% travel to headquarters and other Meta sites, responding on an as-needed basis to emergencies.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelors in engineering or construction management or equivalent work experience, 12+ years of work experience in the construction management industry, multi-project experience in large scale construction management, mission critical, infrastructure, and or data center construction, general knowledge of civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical systems, knowledge of capital budget management and contract administration, and negotiation skills and experience providing solutions to problems.
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of industry standards, building codes and safety standards including fire protection regulations, LEAN Construction knowledge and application of those tools, familiar with P6, Procore and eBuilder software experience, BIM 360 and Bluebeam software experience, MS Visio and SharePoint experience, Building Environment Accreditations (i.e. LEED, SITES, TRUE, WELL), and proficient working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
