About Our Client
Our client is a family-owned construction and real estate development firm specializing in multifamily projects along the East Coast. Their portfolio features large-scale, in-house developments of 150+ units, typically exceeding $40 million in value. With over 5,000 units delivered and another 1,000+ in the pipeline, they continue to grow steadily.
To support this ongoing expansion, they're seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their Maryland office and lead multifamily construction projects throughout the DMV region.
Job Description
The Multifamily Construction Project Manager - MD/VA will be responsible for:
- Overseeing all phases of ground-up multifamily construction from pre-construction through project closeout
- Collaborating with internal teams across development, design, and property management to ensure seamless execution
- Creating and managing project schedules, budgets, and scopes of work to meet established goals
- Leading subcontractor procurement, including bidding, contract negotiation, and coordination
- Monitoring daily site operations to ensure compliance with safety standards, quality expectations, and project specifications
- Facilitating weekly progress meetings and reporting updates to senior leadership
- Reviewing and approving change orders, RFIs, and submittals to maintain documentation accuracy
- Ensuring projects meet all permitting requirements, building codes, and inspection timelines
- Proactively resolving field challenges to avoid delays and minimize disruptions
- Managing project turnover and supporting smooth transition to the property management team

The Successful Applicant
The Multifamily Construction Project Manager - MD/VA will have:
- 5+ years of experience managing multifamily construction projects, ideally ground-up
- Proven track record overseeing projects valued at $20M or more
- In-depth understanding of construction processes, scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore), and budgeting systems
- Skilled in interpreting construction drawings, plans, and technical specifications
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
- Experience collaborating with in-house development teams is a plus
