Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll/Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience managing payroll and AP functions for a construction contractor. This role requires a strong understanding of construction industry practices, job costing, and vendor management.
Key Responsibilities:
Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for field and office employees
Ensure compliance with prevailing wage, certified payroll, and union reporting requirements
Manage accounts payable, including invoice processing, approvals, and payment runs
Maintain accurate job costing records and assist with project billing support
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies
Collaborate with project managers, HR, and accounting teams as needed
Assist with month-end close processes and financial reporting
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in payroll and accounts payable, specifically in the construction industry
Knowledge of certified payroll and prevailing wage regulations
Familiarity with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, or similar)
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Excellent communication and organizational skills
