Position: Payroll / Accounts Payable Specialist Industry: Construction Employment Type: Full-Time

Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll/Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience managing payroll and AP functions for a construction contractor. This role requires a strong understanding of construction industry practices, job costing, and vendor management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for field and office employees

  • Ensure compliance with prevailing wage, certified payroll, and union reporting requirements

  • Manage accounts payable, including invoice processing, approvals, and payment runs

  • Maintain accurate job costing records and assist with project billing support

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies

  • Collaborate with project managers, HR, and accounting teams as needed

  • Assist with month-end close processes and financial reporting

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in payroll and accounts payable, specifically in the construction industry

  • Knowledge of certified payroll and prevailing wage regulations

  • Familiarity with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, or similar)

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
