The Opportunity:Are you a sharp, analytical thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment? We are looking for a Pre-Construction Specialist to join our dynamic estimating team. This is not a typical back-office role. You will be a vital player in the initial phase of our most important projects, transforming complex plans into winning bids. As a Pre-Construction Specialist, you will be the engine room of our estimating department, responsible for the detailed analysis that precedes every bid. Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Performing detailed material takeoffs from construction plans.
- Conducting thorough plan comparisons to identify changes and updates between drawing versions, ensuring our bids are always accurate.
- Assisting our estimating team by loading material takeoffs and quotes into our estimating software.
- Building and maintaining relationships by obtaining material and subcontractor quotes from various vendors.
- Finalizing and completing estimates under the supervision of other experienced estimators.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have strong computer skills including MS Office, Adobe, and Outlook.
- A Problem Solver: You are resourceful, enjoy finding solutions, and can think on your feet.
- Highly Organized: You can masterfully multitask and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment without missing a detail.
- A Strong Communicator: You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Tech-Savvy: You have strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Adobe, and Outlook.
- Driven and Eager to Learn: You have a desire to learn, grow, and take direction to build a successful career.
- 1+ year of recent experience in a similar role is preferred.
Pre-Screen:
- Upon offer, employees may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
License & Certifications:
- Driver's License preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements:
This role is primarily office-based. Frequent activities (up to 66% of the time) include sitting, using manual dexterity, speaking, reading, and hearing. Occasional standing, stooping, and climbing stairs may be required.
