The Project Accountant (Construction Administrator) is responsible for supporting the project management team by handling key administrative and financial aspects of construction projects. This role ensures that all financial and contractual obligations are met efficiently, maintaining compliance with company policies, contract requirements, and industry standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Financial Administration:
Process and track project billings, ensuring accuracy and timely submission of invoices.
Assist with reviewing and processing subcontractor and vendor invoices.
Assist with cost control by tracking committed costs and potential overruns.
Work with the finance team & Payroll team to ensure proper job cost allocations.
Contract & Compliance Management:
Manage subcontractor agreements, purchase orders, and vendor contracts.
Ensure all subcontractors meet insurance and compliance requirements.
Maintain contract documentation and assist in ensuring adherence to contractual terms.
Project Change Management:
Collaborate with the project management team, to draft, track, and process owner and subcontractor change orders.
Collaborate with project managers to ensure change orders are properly documented and approved.
Maintain an accurate log of change orders and their impact on project estimates.
Document Control & Administration:
Process and track Requests for Information (RFIs), ensuring timely responses.
Manage and maintain the project submittal process, ensuring compliance with contract documents.
Maintain the project procurement logs.
Maintain project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and revisions.
Support the project team with meeting minutes, correspondence, and tracking deliverables.
Project Closeout:
Coordinate with the accounting team to finalize subcontractor documentation, including lien waivers and warranties.
Ensure all final project documentation is compiled, organized, and submitted to clients.
Manage financial closeout, including final billings, contract reconciliations, and collaborate with accounting to release and collect retention.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education | bachelors degree - Accounting, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience in Construction Administration, Project Accounting, or a related role | 3yr
Microsoft Office 365 Experience Including strong knowledge of Excel, Word & Outlook | 1yr
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
SKILLS
Proficiency in construction management software | Procore, Viewpoint, Sage, or similar platforms
Strong understanding of construction contracts, AIA billing, and lien waivers.
