Job Duties:
Plan, direct, or coordinate, usually through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems. Participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation. Includes managers in specialized construction fields, such as carpentry or plumbing.
Overall project management in support of the project Superintendent, Manager, Safety Coordinators and any other project stakeholder including the Owner and Architect. Project engineer responsibilities will be on commercial projects within our core markets: advanced technology, commercial, healthcare, higher education and life sciences. Work closely with all members of the project team and will be responsible for the following: Participation and application of DPR's environmental health and safety plan to constantly maintain injury-free environments including performing weekly safety audits. Mentor, develop and train team members for fast-paced growth. Management of other project engineer team members. Understanding and enforcement of contracts, including between DPR and subcontractors as well as DPR and the owner. Assist superintendent and project manager in the implementation of DPR policies and the execution of the project. Organizing the duties of other engineers, field office coordinator, project accountant and other assigned project staff. This includes providing direction, prioritization, and performance feedback. Participation in trainings and company meetings to facilitate individual and company growth. Organizing and electronically archiving project files for easy access by the project team. Preparation, monitoring, and updating project schedules. Working with the superintendent to impact the schedule with project constraints. Preparation, maintenance, and implementation of various document control entities such as daily reports, material procurement logs, submittal logs, as-builts, testing and inspection logs, RFI logs, and change order logs. Distribution of new drawings, changes, approved submittals, RFI responses, and other project information to all affected parties. Identifying, assembling, negotiating, and distributing change orders to both the owner and subcontractors. Preparing agendas, documents, meeting minutes, and actions for various meetings including owner/architect/contractor meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, safety meetings, and staff meetings. Participating in project cost control. This includes maintaining internal records and working with subcontractors to make sure changes are getting paid. Preparing owner billing by assembling DPR costs, receiving and reviewing subcontractor invoices and organizing the documents in accordance with the owner's requirements.
Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites within commuting distance of DPR Construction's Newport Beach, California office.
Minimum education/experience requirements:
Master's degree in Civil/Construction Engineering, Construction Management or related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or in a civil/construction engineering -related occupation.

Skill Requirements:
Position requires at least three (3) year of experience in each of the following skills:
Utilize knowledge of ACC Build, CMiC Field along with Microsoft Office OneNote to prepare and document meeting agendas, meeting minutes and action items for various project meeting and assist in document management activities/tasks.
Utilize knowledge of BIM software like AutoCAD, Revit, Trimble Tekla to facilitate and lead collaboration efforts with overseas BIM vendors/subcontractors and local construction project team.
Utilize knowledge of Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and Critical Path Method to understand sequencing of work in each project and drive towards successful project delivery.
Utilize knowledge of project management software like E-builder, CMiC Field, Procore and Bluebeam to prepare and maintain RFI logs, Submittal logs, Change Order logs and various project management entities for effective project communication and collaboration.
Utilize knowledge of Oracle Textura, project cost management and project finance for subcontractor/vendor billing reviews/approvals.
Utilize knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and CMiC to prepare and assist with Monthly Financial Reports and change order logs for owner billings ensuring proper cashflow of project.
Utilize knowledge of Estimation, Valuation and Advanced Engineering, Procurement and Construction Planning software like SmartBid Net, WinEst, @Risk, and Microsoft Excel to assist in bid invitations, collecting & evaluating bids from various subcontractor/vendors for Client reviews to ease in decision making process.
Utilize knowledge of Risk Register through Microsoft Excel and @Risk software to list, evaluate and mitigate various risks with collaborative solutions through life cycle of the project.
Utilize knowledge of HammerTech and OSHA 10-hour certification for logging regular safety observation/audits from job walks to ensure jobsite worker safety and compliance with Occupation Safety and Health Administration Standards
