Project Manager – Electrical / Industrial Construction (Indianapolis)

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Project Manager to lead complex industrial electrical construction projects from award through final client acceptance. This role is responsible for safety, schedule, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction while coordinating cross-functional teams across engineering, field operations, suppliers, and clients.
This is a high-visibility role for a delivery-focused project leader who thrives in fast-paced industrial environments and enjoys owning outcomes end-to-end.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Execution
Lead industrial electrical projects from kickoff through closeout, ensuring profitability, schedule adherence, and zero safety incidents
Develop and manage project plans, budgets, schedules, labor forecasts, and material strategies
Conduct project kickoff, progress, and close-out reviews, including lessons learned
Ensure site-specific safety plans are in place prior to mobilization and fully enforced
Oversee project documentation, punch lists, and final turnover within defined timelines
Team & Field Leadership
Coordinate closely with field leadership, engineers, BIM/CAD teams, prefabrication, and safety teams
Support and enable site foremen and superintendents with tools, materials, information, and planning
Participate in hiring and development of field and project staff as needed
Foster a collaborative, safety-first culture across office and site teams
Financial & Commercial Management
Own project cost control, forecasting, invoicing, and change management
Review and approve vendor invoices and major purchase orders
Manage subcontractor and supplier relationships, including contract administration
Drive positive cash flow through disciplined billing and cost tracking
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5–7+ years of experience managing industrial or electrical construction projects
Strong understanding of electrical systems and ability to read electrical drawings, P&IDs, and construction documents
Proven experience managing schedules, budgets, labor, and subcontractors
Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Proficient with standard project management and office software
Work Environment
Split between office and active construction sites
Regular interaction with field teams and clients
Occasional weekend or off-hour work based on project needs
Background check required due to access to confidential project information
