Description
The Project Manager plays a crucial role in the successful execution of K-12 construction projects, overseeing the process from preconstruction through final completion. This individual works closely with school district representatives, architects, and field teams to manage budgets, schedules, and subcontractors while ensuring that all work aligns with educational facility standards and safety requirements. Key responsibilities include coordinating project planning, monitoring progress against milestones, managing change orders and RFIs, and ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and codes. The Project Manager also leads stakeholder communication, facilitates inspections, and drives project delivery with a focus on quality, safety, and minimal disruption to school operations.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Oversee all phases of K-12 construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget
Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and consultants to maintain project flow and accountability
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, track milestones, and adjust plans as needed to stay on target
Review and approve submittals, RFIs, and change orders to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with project goals
Monitor budget performance, control costs, and prepare regular financial forecasts and reports
Ensure all construction activities comply with contract documents, codes, and school district standards
Lead progress meetings with clients, field teams, and stakeholders to provide updates and resolve issues
Collaborate with field staff to address construction challenges and implement effective solutions
Oversee documentation processes including daily reports, punch lists, and project closeout materials
Foster strong communication between the office, field teams, and school district personnel to ensure a smooth and successful project delivery

Profile
In return for a competitive compensation package, the ideal candidate will possess the following:
6+ years of experience managing commercial or K-12 construction projects from preconstruction through closeout - essential
Proven ability to lead project teams, manage subcontractors, and maintain schedules and budgets - essential
Familiarity with school construction standards, phased project delivery, and occupied campus work - preferred
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills to manage stakeholders and resolve project issues - essential
Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contracts - essential
Experience with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Project - preferred
Understanding of construction safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe project environment - essential
Ability to work collaboratively with field staff, clients, and design professionals across multiple project phases - essential
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field - preferred, but not required
Detail-oriented and organized, with a proactive approach to managing documentation, schedules, and cost controls - essential
Job Offer
Base salary between $110,000 and $130,000, depending on experience
