*This position is a full-time, term-limited position funded for 3 years from the date of hire, with the possibility of becoming permanent if additional funding is approved at a later date. This position is benefit eligible.

Salary Ranges:

PM I: $ 67,600 - $ 91,300 Annually

PM II: $ 80,200 - $112,300 Annually

PMIII: $108,400 - $157,200 Annually

Job Summary:

The Engineering Project Manager (PM) for Construction is responsible for the overall success of many different capital improvement infrastructure projects for Water & Sewer that require independent judgment and initiative. The Project Manager will collaborate with other engineering staff for design phase for constructability, cost estimating, budgeting, and management of projects. The PM will ensure construction activities meet City requirements, controlling the timelines, costs, and quality. The PM ensures the quality of the construction process for all types of projects, including water, wastewater, non-potable, and facility projects based on established deadlines. As change is inevitable in construction, a key part of this role is foreseeing possible challenges, monitoring and responding to pricing and material availability, and making decisions based on field conditions and other impacts to the project plans and minimizing cost and schedule impacts.

The Engineering PM will assist the Water & Sewer Department with the implementation of the capital improvement programs. Activities may include, but are not limited to, field investigation, preparation of investigations and replacement plans. This position requires a self-motivated person with sound judgment, problem solving skills, and abilities to work in collaboration with different project team, contractors, and the public.

Essential Functions:

Supervisory Responsibilities This position will have project accountability, without being continually on site and without direct authority over all related employees. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to inspire others and facilitate a collaborative team dynamic.

Travel: Approximately 10% of travel may be required.
