A reputable New York-based general contractor is seeking a Public Construction Superintendent to join their team for upcoming ground-up and renovation projects across the five boroughs. This firm has a strong track record of successfully delivering public works projects for agencies such as NYC SCA, DDC, DASNY, EDC, and HPD.
Job Description
Oversee all field operations for public construction projects from start to finish. Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and inspectors to ensure timely and compliant delivery. Enforce safety regulations in accordance with OSHA and NYC DOB standards. Maintain site logs, daily reports, and track progress using tools like Procore or similar platforms. Interface with agency officials and ensure adherence to contract specs and public procurement guidelines. Support subcontractor buyout, scheduling, inspections, and turnover phase.

The Successful Applicant
Minimum 7+ years of experience as a Superintendent on public sector construction projects. Prior experience working on projects for SCA, DDC, DASNY, or EDC is required. Strong understanding of NYC building codes, DOB requirements, and agency compliance. NYC OSHA SST Card (62 hours), Site Safety Manager license or Superintendent license preferred. Proficiency in construction software such as Procore, CMiC, or similar platforms. Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
