Job Description
A leading construction company based in White Marsh, Maryland, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced bilingual Safety Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in English and Spanish and have a strong background in construction safety and OSHA regulations.
As the Safety Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees on our construction sites. You will work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and workers to develop and implement safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations and industry best practices
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on construction sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Train and educate employees on safety procedures and practices
- Investigate and report on any accidents or near-misses, and make recommendations for preventative measures
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and training
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure safety measures are incorporated into project plans and timelines
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and changes in safety regulations to ensure compliance and make necessary updates to company policies and procedures
- Serve as the main point of contact for all safety-related inquiries and concerns from employees, clients, and regulatory agencies
- Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks to promote a culture of safety on construction sites
- Manage and maintain safety equipment and supplies
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction safety, preferably in a managerial role
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other safety management software
