The Safety Trained Supervisor (STSC) is a full-time safety professional assigned to a construction site, responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, performing regular inspections, and promoting a safe and productive work environment. This ongoing role supports daily operations by identifying risks, reinforcing safety procedures, and serving as a key link between field teams and safety leadership.
Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing the following regularly or as a backup:
- Serve as the primary safety contact for the assigned construction site
- Conduct continuous site safety inspections and hazard assessments
- Lead safety briefings, toolbox talks, and training sessions
- Monitor compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies
- Investigate incidents and near-misses; recommend corrective actions
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and logs
- Collaborate with site leadership to resolve safety concerns
- Promote a proactive site leadership to resolve safety concerns
- Perform additional duties as assigned

Required education and/or experience:
- Active STSC certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP)
- Experience managing safety on a single-site construction project
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Computer skills:
- Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e.: Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Comfortable working within Windows-based platforms
- Ability to learn and adapt to new software systems and digital tools

This role involves moving around an active construction site, including walking on uneven ground, climbing, and standing for long periods. The candidate may work in noisy areas and changing weather conditions, and must wear safety gear (PPE) as needed. Occasionally, lifting and carrying up to fifty (50) pounds may be required.
The ideal candidate will need to read safety signs and documents, and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with team members, vendors, and managers.
Work environment:
The work environment is primarily field based at a single active construction site. While some administrative duties may be performed in a site office, the majority of responsibilities occur in dynamic, operational areas. Environmental conditions vary depending on the phase of construction, weather, and site activity, with exposure to dust, debris, and moderate to high noise levels. The position demands adaptability and situational awareness to navigate changing site conditions and maintain safety oversite. Team collaboration is frequent, and success in this role depends on the ability to maintain focus and professionalism in a fast-paced, hands-on setting.
