Senior Estimator - Heavy Civil Construction

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for managing and developing accurate, competitive, and timely estimates for heavy civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in site work and public infrastructure, strong leadership skills, and the ability to guide a high-performing team while ensuring cost accuracy and strategic input on bids. Client Details Our client is a well-established heavy civil contractor with over 50 years of experience delivering complex site work, subdivisions, and public works projects across the Tri-State area. Known for high standards, a team-oriented culture, and consistent growth, they are seeking a skilled Senior Estimator to join their leadership team. Description Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates based on project plans, specifications, and industry data
Collaborate with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to assess scope, cost, and risk factors
Interpret blueprints, perform takeoffs, and develop quantity estimates using AGTEK and B2W Estimating software
Analyze labor, materials, and time requirements to ensure cost-effective project delivery
Oversee and train junior estimating staff, supporting mentorship and succession planning
Evaluate project changes and advise on cost impacts and feasibility
Work directly with operations, project management, and business development teams to align estimating with overall business goals
Track performance metrics and ensure accountability for results that support company objectives
Profile 3+ years of experience as a Senior Estimator or similar role in heavy civil construction, with responsibility for projects of $20M+ annual volume
Background in estimating for site development, subdivisions, and/or public works
Proficiency with AGTEK Earthwork 4D and B2W Estimating Software
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
OSHA 10 Certification preferred
Certified Cost Estimating/Analyst (CCEA) training or degree in Construction Management preferred
