Job Details
In this pivotal position, you will oversee the estimation process for highly complex electrical projects, ensuring accurate cost evaluations and competitive proposals. Collaboration with multiple departments will be essential to develop thorough and effective estimates. Your knowledge of the market and industry trends will play a key role in guiding project success and upholding the company's reputation for excellence. Working closely with the leadership team, you will help shape strategic decisions and may also provide direct oversight to other estimators.
Location/Travel Requirements: Position will have 10% travel expectations and will be located in the Aurora, CO office.
Pay Range: This is an exempt/salary position. The pay range is $140,000 - $200,000. Pay may vary depending on your location, skills, and experience.
Job Responsibilities: Develop bid hours and bid sheets for project estimates
Request and review supplier pricing
Negotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors
Prepare quantity take-offs and staking sheets
Create logistics plans for material handling and delivery
Review and interpret bid documents to ensure accuracy
Conduct site visits as required to support estimating activities
Provide timely updates to the department on project status and assignments
Apply accurate and efficient estimating techniques for complex projects
Support and collaborate with other members of the estimating team
Gather and analyze historical cost data to inform current and future estimates
Prepare estimates for management to aid in planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
Analyze blueprints and related documentation to determine time, cost, materials, and labor requirements for large-scale projects
Maintain strong relationships with vendors, clients, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to address changes in scope, schedule, or estimates
Resolve technical issues encountered during bid preparation
Stay informed on industry trends, new equipment, and evolving methods or procedures
Prepare specialized studies or reports for unique bid conditions or items
Experience/ Qualifications: Undergraduate or graduate degree in Construction or Electrical Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or Finance OR extensive and related work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the knowledge, skills and abilities described above
10+ years of estimating experience in a construction-related industry
Advanced Experience with Electrical Utilities - Transmission Lines, Substation, or Distribution
