Salary:

Bailey-Harris is seeking a highly skilled and tech-savvy Senior Field Engineer / Construction Surveyor to join our field operations team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operate and maintainrobotic total stationsand leveling instruments on construction sites.
  2. Performconstruction layout and site stakingbased on plans and digital models (CAD/BIM).
  3. Interpret engineering and architectural drawings to translate design into real-world measurements.
  4. Collaborate with project managers, designers, and field crews to ensure alignment between digital models and physical layout.
  5. Manage and process survey data using software such asTrimble FieldLink, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or Revit.
  6. Troubleshoot field data issues and ensure accuracy of layout operations.
  7. Ensure all work complies with safety standards, quality assurance protocols, and industry regulations.


Qualifications:

  1. 3+ years of field experience in surveying or field engineering, preferably in a construction environment.
  2. Proficiency with robotic total stations (Trimble, Leica, Topcon, etc.)
  3. Familiarity with CAD, BIM, and survey data processing software.
  4. Strong understanding of construction processes, grading, utilities, and site layout.
  5. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  6. Ability and willingness to collaborate with the entire Project Team
  7. Must be able to work at elevated heights, frequently lift materials weighing up to 70 lbs and work in outside all-weather conditions
  8. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, shop drawings, procedure manuals, and safety rules
  9. Experience with data collectors, electronic or robotic total stations, builders levels, laser levels, tripod, prisms, computers
  10. Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
  11. Higher math skills (algebra and trigonometry)
  12. Proficiency using Imperial Measuring System (Feet and Inches) and Decimal Feet System
  13. Valid drivers license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.


Preferred Skills:

  1. Experience with GNSS/GPS systems.
  2. Experience integrating robotic layout with 3D models from Revit or Navisworks.
  3. Ability to train others on surveying equipment and digital workflows.


Work Environment:

  1. Majority of work will be conducted on active construction sites, requiring the use of PPE.
  2. Exposure to variable weather conditions.


Physical demands include walking, standing for long periods, and lifting equipment.
