We are hiring an experienced Senior Manager of Construction Materials & Field Engineering to lead a high-performing department overseeing Construction Materials Testing (CMT) operations. This role includes managing both field services and laboratory operations, while mentoring engineering staff and overseeing project performance, safety, and quality. This is an ideal opportunity for a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a proven background in materials testing, civil engineering, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:- Direct day-to-day operations for all CMT field and lab activities.
- Lead and support engineers, project managers, and technicians.
- Ensure high standards in quality control, safety, and engineering procedures.
- Review and approve technical proposals, reports, and calculations.
- Manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and financial targets.
- Set team goals and lead training and development initiatives.
- Assist in business development through community engagement and client interaction.
- Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and collaboration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (from an ABET-accredited institution)
- Professional Engineer (PE) License – Required
- 8+ years of relevant engineering experience in CMT, including field/lab oversight
- 4+ years of experience with a relevant military background
- 2+ years of people management experience (flexible with military service)
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing project budgets, forecasts, and KPIs
- In-depth understanding of construction materials testing procedures and standards
- Master’s Degree (MS) in Civil Engineering
- Background in business development or client relations
- Familiarity with state and local construction regulations and standards
Benefits
- Base Salary: Starting from $85,000 – $125,000+ (based on experience)
