SUMMARY The Heavy Civil Construction Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects from inception to completion. The role will include coordinating various aspects of the construction process, ensuring timely and cost-effective project delivery while maintaining high-quality standards and safety measures.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Ensure acceptable “Contractor Performance Rating” scores for each job. Monthly tracking of P&L on all jobs assigned. Weekly tracking of Labor performance on all jobs assigned. Negotiate Change Orders. Initiate and maintain liaison with client and A/E contacts to facilitate construction activities. Review and finalize project costs and adjustments upon project completion. Proactively recognize and manage potential claim/change orders/value engineering issues on projects. Plan, organize, and staff key field positions through Human Resources, subordinate Project Superintendents, etc. Establish project objectives, schedules, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of corporate policy. Handle all correspondence with the Owner and Subcontractor. Perform design reviews on design-build projects. Coordinate with all project participants, including design consultants, contractors, and your team. Prepare, review, update, and report on construction cost reports and labor productivity reports. Ensure everyone on the jobsite is following safety protocols.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, & REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering • Heavy Civil Construction experience preferred • Minimum 5 years of Civil Construction Project Management experience required • Expert skills in Excel, Adobe and Microsoft Word • Relevant certifications, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Construction Manager, (CCM) beneficial
