THE POSITION

Reporting to the Vice President, the Project/Senior Project Manager will support the Acquisition and Rehabilitation team on active rehabilitation projects in the affordable multifamily housing space. What You Can Expect To Do Conduct front-end due diligence, including analyzing property condition reports, environmental reports, and other specialty sub-consultants. Assist in developing detailed scope, budget, schedule, and logistics plans; manage their execution during active construction phases. Produce accurate reports on construction progress, issues, and budget compliance for internal and leadership distribution. Identify and qualify deferred maintenance, building deficiencies, and necessary capital improvements based on experience and vendor assessments. Propose solutions to address building deficiencies and regulatory requirements. Source and manage the design team, vendors, and contractors. Manage the development of architectural and engineering plans and specifications. Ensure permitting approvals from local jurisdictions align with project schedules and regulatory requirements of stakeholders including Housing Authorities, lenders, and HUD. Coordinate contractor access, logistics, utility shutdowns, and notices with Operations and Property Management teams. Conduct regular on-site inspections of active construction projects. Oversee quality control, perform pre- and post-construction reviews. Escort design teams, lenders, and stakeholders during site visits for status updates and draw meetings. Ensure safety guidelines are followed on all sites for contractors and residents. What You Should Have Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management preferred. Strong organizational skills; ability to manage time, focus, and communicate clearly. Hands-on experience with occupied apartment renovation projects. 5+ years of construction management experience, particularly in multifamily housing. Ability to read and value engineer construction documents. A proactive sense of urgency and purpose. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
