Chubb is seeking a skilled Senior Commercial Lines Underwriting to join its growing Lower Midmarket (Target accounts $25K-300K+) Construction Team. This is a production UW role dedication to new revenue growth of their assigned territory. The role will report directly to the Construction Lower Midmarket Leader or Construction Team Lead and matrix into local regional office. This individual will be charged with a building strong territory presence and building strong agency/broker relationships. The ideal candidate will possess strong underwriting and organizational skills along with exceptional communication abilities needed to build and maintain key relationships. Chubb’s Lower Midmarket Construction Segment is a growing and expanding business unit and presents career growth opportunities for this individual. Drive new business production for Chubb’s Construction Lower Midmarket Segment across their assigned territory. Marketplace Focus - Develop opportunities particular to the marketplace and provide customized approaches on market conditions and agency needs. Marketing Strategy and Execution – With support from Construction IP leadership and distribution partners, develop and execute marketing strategy and coordinates marketing and production activities within assigned territory. Work with other department within Construction IP and CI to drive cross sell opportunities and help identify new business prospects. Implement and manage effective pricing and rate strategies to ensure profitability, book growth, and successful producer relations. Primary responsibility for managing regional/local producer plant; responsible for cohesive and consistent agency management strategies across assigned territory. Support the expansion of Construction Lower Midmarket and offer recommendations to leadership that will support building of the business unit. Conduct sales presentations, including product education and new product rollouts, with producers to support Construction IP and territory growth. Consistently meet service standards. Disciplined desk management, including production planning and forecasting for the assigned book of business Serve as UW resource and mentor for other UWs on their team. As a Senior UW it is expected the individual can position themselves as a leader amongst their peers. Collect and share industry intelligence with the team, including trends and developments. 5+ years of commercial lines UW experience, preferably with a focus in construction. Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience; Master’s degree and industry accreditation are a plus Strong organizational and time management skills, self-starter Experienced in coaching and mentoring others Experience in driving profitable new business territory growth and building strong agency relationships to drive their business. Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills to ensure a clear, consistent message to customers, producers, employees and other stakeholders. Advanced marketing and sales skill set Proven ability to use technical, analytical and underwriting decision-making skills to effectively achieve business goals. Creative thinker and solution-oriented individual The pay range for the role is $100,000 to $165,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors.
